Handling of CDs

To maintain the integrity of the data, stored on Compact Discs please use the following handling guidelines:

1. Handle the disc only by the outer edge to prevent fingerprints and smears on the surface.

2. Store the disc in the protective case.

3. Do not leave the disc in direct sunlight or in a hot, humid environment.

4. Do not stick adhesive label on discs,

5. Use only an approved type of felt tip permanent pen when labeling.

Write only on the printed area or on the clear inner diameter of the disc.

***Do not use ball-point pen or other hard tipped pen.***

5. Cleaning the disc. Use a soft, lint free cloth to remove spots, dust or finger prints.

***Always wipe from the centre to the outside edge and never wipe in a circular motion.*** Only CD cleaner or ethyl alcohol may be used to clean a stain. Avoid using petrol or other anti-static agent or conventional LP agents. Keep water drops off label side also.
